description Chemometric study on the TiO sub(2)-photocatalytic degradation of nitrilotriacetic acid was conducted. A two-level-FFD was applied to evaluate the statistical meaning of factors and their interactions through multiple-way analysis of the variance (MANOVA). The results of kinetic parameters obtained with the neural network agreed with independent experimental results, confirming a Langmuir-Hinshelwood kinetic regime. The significant factors that affected the behavior of the NTA degradation were established using chemometric technique. Advanced oxidation technologies (AOTs), such as TiO sub(2)-heterogeneous photocatalysis, could be valuable processes to be applied for the degradation of oligocarboxylic acids such as EDTA or NTA present in wastewaters of several industries including the nuclear one.
