Laboratory tests were performed to investigate the effects onOnychiurus armatus(TULLAERG) andO. apuanicusDALLAI of the herbicide atrazine at serial concentrations of 2.5 to 160 ppm. InO. apuanicusthe lowest doses caused a mortality of 18.7% after 30 days and 46.7% after 60 days. The2species showed different sensitivity to atrazine, especially at the higher doses. The LD 50 after 30 days was 17.2 ppm forO. apuanicusand 20 ppm for(). armatus.Oviposition does not occur at 20 ppm or greater, whereas at lower doses no effects were found on reproduction.
