Wetland Restoration: Integrating Scientific-Technical, Economic, and Social Perspectives

The success of wetland restoration projects depend on various factors that should be considered during the planning and development stages. These encompass technical failures of lack of scientific information, economic constraints, and social disagreements. The integration of all three perspectives is crucial to obtain all the values of an ecological restoration project. Experiences gained in four wetland restoration projects conducted under different conditions in northeastern Spain are surveyed in order to draw common recommendations for planning future high value projects.
