Quantitative Genetics of Vertebrae Number and Position of Dorsal Fin Spines in the Velvet Belly Shark, Etmopterus spinax
In this paper, the author re-analyzes Punnett's (1904) data on Etmopterus spinax and determined heritabilities for vertebrae number and position of the dorsal fin spines. This study is the first quantitative genetic analysis of meristic phenotypes in any elasmobranch.
