Zusammenfassung:Problems faced by the producers of tapioca in Thailand in complying with new effluent quality standards are discussed. The operation of both large and small mills for processing cassava starch is outlined, and appropriate effluent-treatment methods, including facultative ponds, aerated lagoons, rotating-drum filters, and activated-sludge plants are evaluated. Some optimal solutions are proposed.
