Image unit for the airport special vehicle dispatching system was designed in this paper. The original image must be compressed before transmitted via wireless. JPEG image compression algorithm was chosen to deal with the image compression on DSP chip. The compressed image data was transmitted through GPRS network. The software system was optimized effectively in this paper. Experiments showed that the transmission of images of this design was clear and stable to meet the requirements.
