Zusammenfassung:The aim of the present study is to compare the pattern of activation of the oblique vastus medialis muscle (OVM) and vastus lateralis muscle (VL) during the exercises held in the Jump proprioception both in healthy men and women. Electromyographic data were obtained from the OVM and VL muscles in 20 women and 20 men with a body mass index (BMI) acceptable and clinically normal. The value of relation OVM/VL was determined from the request of several jumps in the jump, obtained during 30 seconds of record. The t test of Student, with significance of 0.05, showed no significant difference in the relation OVM/VL in overall sample, as well as between men and women, as well as in BMI results between the two populations. The results suggest that the ratio of the electrical activity of the OVM and VL is similar in the jump exercises, so it is not able to select one preferred work from these two elements. Anthropometric measurements seem to show an influence upon the results.
