Many physicians perceive that the environment of healthcare is one of collaboration; many nurses do not. Common ground is needed. Enhanced nurse-physician communication presents the basis for interprofessional collaboration. Seago summarizes the evidence from an integrative review of nurse-physician communication and presents recommendations to improve the nurse-physician communication process.
