Early Estimates of Seasonal Influenza Vaccine Effectiveness—United States, January 2013

Influenza vaccination is recommended for transplant candidates and recipients, but the efficacy of the vaccine is estimated to be approximately 60%. Consequently, antiviral treatment is recommended for symptomatic patients suspected of having influenza regardless of vaccination status.
