Zusammenfassung:It has long been thought that the returns for the two military surveys of Warwickshire in 1522 had disappeared. After extensive research it has been possible to identify a warrant from the first survey of 1522; to establish the date and provenance of the survey of Knightlow hundred; and finally to discover a fragment from the first survey of Kineton hundred. Only one other warrant in England is known to have survived and no returns have hitherto been identified from the first survey. These new discoveries have the potential to shed light on the process of conducting the first survey and the nature of the returns when compared with material from the second survey.
