Zusammenfassung:Outcome studies after cataract surgery should focus on functional status and quality of life instead of visual acuity measurement alone. To assess patients' quality of life (QoL) and overall visual function (VF) after manual small incision cataract surgery (SICS) with intraocular lens (IOL) implantation. A prospective hospital based study which evaluated the preoperative and postoperative visual function and vision related QoL among patients presenting with first eye cataract at an eye hospital in South Western Nigeria using the VF-14 questionnaire and the vision related QoL questionnaire. One hundred and eighty two patients were enrolled for the study with a mean age of 66.5 ± 10.46.
