Zusammenfassung:The search for energy-saving, cost reduction, increased productivity and flexibility has brought the option of adopting the hot metal for electric steel mills, which have traditionally worked only with solid charge in steel manufacture, predominantly scrap. This work deals with the adaptation of "traditional" electric furnace to use the hot metal. And it approaches their impacts on performance, operation and safety of this new production route.
