The region-specific activation of Ca2+ /calmodulin dependent protein kinase II and extracellular signal-regulated kinases in hippocampus following chronic alcohol exposure
Highlights ► Alcohol exposure, withdrawal and re-exposure induce distinct open-field behaviors. ► CA1 and DG, but not CA3 are more sensitive to alcohol-induced pERK reduction. ► Alcohol exposure induced similar patterns of pCaMKII in the CA1 and DG, but not CA3.
