Pretreatment with flumazenil suppressed the anticonvulsant effects of vitexin during the onset of both the seizures. These results indicate that vitexin has anticonvulsant effects in the brain, possibly through interaction at the benzodiazepine site of the γ‐aminobutyric acid type A receptor complex.
