Retention of Cadmium and Selenium Influence in Fowl and Chickens of F1 Generation

The retention of cadmium and selenium influence on Cd retention in the muscle, liver and kidneys of hens, chickens and in eggs was studied. Cadmium (Cd) as cadmium chloride (CdCl2) and selenium (Se) as sodium selenite (Na2SeO3) were added to feed at dosages: group 0—control, group 1—20 mg/kg Cd, group 2—30 mg/kg Cd + 4 mg/kg Se. The birds were exposed to Cd for 8 weeks. Cadmium level in hens and cocks was found highest in the kidneys, followed by the liver and muscle.
