Isolation and identification of a growth inhibitor from blue light-illuminated cress seedlings

A plant growth inhibitor was isolated from blue light-illuminated cressseedlings and identified as 4-hydroxy-2,3-dimethyl-2-nonen-4-olide from^sup 1^H and ^sup 13^C NMR and ESI-MS spectra. It inhibited thehypocotyl growth of cress seedlings at concentrations higher than 100μM.[PUBLICATION ABSTRACT]
