Results
A total of 10,192 articles were evaluated. Two trends were noted in the
AJOG
: percentage of urogynecology articles increased (correlation with year
r

p

r
= −0.589;
p
< 0.05). Similarly for
Obstet Gynecol
, the number of urogynecology articles increased with time with a strong positive correlation of
r
= 0.743 and
p
< 0.05. There was a significant difference in the number of articles published in the
AJOG
in months with an annual scientific meeting compared to months without (
t

p
< 0.001).
Conclusions
The numbers of urogynecology articles published in the general literature has increased and may be related to presentation at national meetings.</description><identifier>ISSN: 0937-3462</identifier><identifier>EISSN: 1433-3023</identifier><identifier>DOI: 10.1007/s00192-009-0980-0</identifier><identifier>PMID: 19727535</identifier><language>eng</language><publisher>London: Springer-Verlag</publisher><subject>Congresses as Topic ; Gynecology ; Gynecology - trends ; Medicine ; Medicine & Public Health ; Meetings ; Obstetrics ; Obstetrics - organization & administration ; Original Article ; Publishing ; Societies, Medical ; Studies ; Urology ; Urology - trends</subject><ispartof>International Urogynecology Journal, 2009-12, Vol.20 (12), p.1463-1467</ispartof><rights>The International Urogynecological Association 2009</rights><lds50>peer_reviewed</lds50><woscitedreferencessubscribed>false</woscitedreferencessubscribed><citedby>FETCH-LOGICAL-c370t-940f39ae637d161391ed45f937b2a89011c5c6c6b5f4dbb3b3dc3eae70f360443</citedby><cites>FETCH-LOGICAL-c370t-940f39ae637d161391ed45f937b2a89011c5c6c6b5f4dbb3b3dc3eae70f360443</cites></display><links><openurl>$$Topenurl_article</openurl><openurlfulltext>$$Topenurlfull_article</openurlfulltext><thumbnail>$$Tsyndetics_thumb_exl</thumbnail><linktopdf>$$Uhttps://link.springer.com/content/pdf/10.1007/s00192-009-0980-0$$EPDF$$P50$$Gspringer$$H</linktopdf><linktohtml>$$Uhttps://link.springer.com/10.1007/s00192-009-0980-0$$EHTML$$P50$$Gspringer$$H</linktohtml><link.rule.ids>314,776,780,27903,27904,41467,42536,51297</link.rule.ids><backlink>$$Uhttps://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19727535$$D View this record in MEDLINE/PubMed$$Hfree_for_read</backlink></links><search><creatorcontrib>McLennan, Mary T.</creatorcontrib><creatorcontrib>Leong, Fah Che</creatorcontrib><creatorcontrib>Steele, Andrew C.</creatorcontrib><creatorcontrib>Harris, Jenine K.</creatorcontrib><title>The influence of national society annual scientific meetings on publication in general obstetrics and gynecology literature: a urogynecology perspective</title><title>International Urogynecology Journal</title><addtitle>Int Urogynecol J</addtitle><addtitle>Int Urogynecol J Pelvic Floor Dysfunct</addtitle><description>Introduction and hypothesis
