Reviews the book, Handbook of sexual and gender identity disorders by David L. Rowland and Luca Incrocci (see record 2008-03969-000). This book covers a wide range of sexual disorders and includes a number of theoretical orientations. Part 1 of the book, Sexual Dysfunctions, has 10 chapters. Part 2 of this book, Gender Identity Disorders, has five chapters. It is in this section of the book that the multiple perspective approach is particularly striking. Part 3 of the book has five chapters on sexual deviation, here labeled Paraphilias and Atypical Sexual Behaviors. Overall, this book is a valuable resource. The failure to cover the topic of child sexual abuse is all that keeps this book from providing encyclopedic coverage of sexual and gender identity disorders.
