Zusammenfassung:Reviews the book, Ethical Issues in Epidemiologic Research edited by Laurence Tancredi (1986). If ever a book's title misstated its substance, this one has. True, the book is about ethical issues, but it is also about the spectrum of practical, political, and scientific judgments that needs to be applied in both research and clinical contexts. It focuses not only on epidemiologic research but on the entire range of "decision" issues that arises in the course of research and in the context of evaluation and treatment. The book, therefore, has a wide scope of application and potentially a very large and interested audience. But you'd never have guessed that from the title. The contributors to Ethical Issues in Epidemiologic Research review a variety of issues that are encountered daily in the design and implementation of psychiatric and psychological research as well as in clinical practice. Beyond the title of the book, this volume has a flaw. Now, the fact is that the topics of this book have durability. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2016 APA, all rights reserved)
