Zusammenfassung: | Reviews the book, Language, Mind, and Brain by Thomas W. Simon and Robert J. Scholes (Eds.) (1982). The volume is a collection of seventeen papers based on a symposium funded by the Sloan Foundation and held in 1978, with contributors from psychology, linguistics, philosophy, and computer science. The most striking characteristic of the collection is that almost no one contributing to it is reporting any actual research in cognitive science. The book has an old-fashioned air, which is only partly due to its chronological age. The choice of authors also contributes to this impression.
