Zusammenfassung: | Reviews the book, Computers in Psychology: Applications in Education, Research and Psychodiagnostics by L. J. M. Mulder, F. J. Maarse, W. P. B. Sjouw, and A. E. Akkerman (Eds.) (see record 1991-98343-000). This book presents the results of a conference held at the University of Groningen in 1988 and is the third book in the Computers in Psychology series. The focus of the conference, and hence that of the book, was an examination of how psychologists, educators, and other behavioral scientists apply computers in the classroom, laboratory, and clinic. Within this framework, which provides a common theme, these articles cover a wide range of topics with relevance to psychologists. In the Preface, the editors note that the book is broken into three major sections, with each section addressing a different application of the computer to psychology. The three parts focus on the use of computers in education, behavioral research (instrumentation and methods), psychodiagnostics, and expert systems.
