Advanced age and smoking were independent risk factors for abdominal aortic aneurysm. Conclusion: These results demonstrate that the prevalence of abdominal aortic aneurysm is higher in patients with carotid disease than in the general population. Patients with known carotid disease may be candidates for selective screening for abdominal aortic aneurysm detection. |
