Recently, cases of domestic violence have increased in Jordan in recent years, as statistics show that women and children are the most affected groups by this phenomenon. The current research focuses on cases of domestic violence in Jordan by analyzing statistics and previous studies that addressed this topic in order to understand the causes and factors that contribute to the spread of domestic violence within its effects on social and psychological cohesion. The research showed that confirming that domestic violence has major effects in terms of mental, psychological and health that affect the social and psychological status of individuals, and these are considered serious health problems that affect the emergence of strokes and heart diseases and may be affected by reaching drug abuse, asthma, and others. Research has shown that domestic violence has profound negative effects on individuals, including increased rates of depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder, as well as an erosion of trust between members of society and increased rates of family breakdown and crime.
