description | We draw on a substantial body of theoretical and empirical research on generative artificial intelligence and virtual reality training technologies enabling employee collaboration and workplace relationship management. In this research, prior findings were cumulated indicating that wearable augmented reality and holographic display devices, virtual hiring and training processes, and workplace tracking systems can develop competitive advantage, influence labor market outcomes, and lead to meaningful productivity growth. We carried out a quantitative literature review of ProQuest, Scopus, and the Web of Science throughout February 2023, with search terms including "simulated 3D working environments" + "generative artificial intelligence and virtual reality immersive training technologies," "behavior tracking and task collaboration tools," and "interconnected monitoring and holographic display devices." As we analyzed research published in 2023, only 11 out of 101 papers met the eligibility criteria. Data visualization tools: Dimensions (bibliometric mapping) and VOSviewer (layout algorithms). Reporting quality assessment tool: PRISMA. Methodological quality assessment tools include: AMSTAR, Distiller SR, ROBIS, and SRDR. JEL codes: E24; J21; J54; J64 Keywords: generative artificial intelligence; cognitive computing; algorithmic knowledge; wearable self-tracking devices; geospatial mapping technologies; immersive work environments |
