description In this paper, we developed a new version of Rayleigh distribution and named as DUS-Rayleigh distribution (DUS-RD). Estimation of parameter are done by using classical methods: maximum likelihood estimation (MLE), least sqaure estimation (LSE), weighted least sqaure estimation (WLSE), maximum product spacing estimation (MPSE), Cramer–Von Mises estimation (CME) and square error loss function (SELF) is used for the Bayesian estimation of parameter. We performed Monte Carlo simulation technique to study the performances of considered methods of estimation in terms of their mean squared errors. Finally illustration of application of proposed model in real life is taken the place in this study.
