Zusammenfassung:The use of fibers from polylactic acid (PLA) to create nonwoven materials and threads is relevant. A study of the microstructure and properties of PLA threads was carried out, followed by comparison with polyamide ones. It has been established that PLA threads are bundles of monofilaments with a diameter of 14 ± 1 μm made of PLA with a high degree of crystallinity (up to 60%), which determines high tensile strength (90–95 MPa). PLA threads are characterized by shrinking up to 8% when heated above the glass transition temperature.
