Zusammenfassung: | Preventing dental and oral issues in children involves enhancing their knowledge through health promotion, with early education serving to instill understanding and encourage proper dental health practices. Health education can be delivered through various media, including the popular social platform WhatsApp. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of dental health education delivered through WhatsApp video calls among children aged 8-10. The research employed a quasi-experimental design, specifically a one-group pretest-posttest design, and the target population consisted of children aged 8-10 in RW 08 Jetis Village, Sukoharjo, Central Java, Indonesia. Participants were selected through a total sampling technique based on specific criteria. Those meeting the criteria were designated as respondents and underwent pretests followed by WhatsApp video call education sessions and posttests. The data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test, with results indicating a significant effect (p < 0.05), signifying the effectiveness of WhatsApp video call education on the dental health knowledge of children aged 8-10. |
