Contact Rigidity in Repeated Impact of Spherical Indenter

A method is developed for determining the contact rigidity in repeated impact on inserting a single microsphere. Experimental data regarding such repeated insertion are presented. On the basis of the results, a new method is proposed for determining the hardness.
