Zusammenfassung:This study aimed to provide a comprehensive overview of heritage tourism research by analyzing related academic literature and bibliometric analysis. The study analyzed research articles with the term "heritage tourism" in the title published globally from 2013 to 2022, using data from the Web of Science - Core Collection database. The study found that China, the US, and the UK have been the most productive countries regarding the number of publications on heritage tourism. That collaboration between researchers in the field is relatively low to moderate. The study also found that the use of augmented reality in the context of urban heritage tourism is an area of growing interest and that keywords such as "community participation" and "satisfaction" are trending in the field. Finally, the study found that the concept of "authenticity" is a critical focus in research on heritage tourism.
