Zusammenfassung: | Mangrove is one of the tropical ecosystems that have high productivity and as the suitable habitat for aquatic biota. Mangrove ecosystem has high diversity of aquatic animals, both vertebrates and invertebrates. One of distinctive crabs that inhabitants in mangrove ecosystem is Uca sp. Uca sp. plays an important role in its habitat which ecologically has a major impact on the environment by breaking down waste into debris as detritus. The purpose of this study was to identify and analyze the abundance of crab species (Uca sp.) and structure composition as well as analyzing the relationship between the abundance of Uca sp. with a mangrove density in Aceh Besar. The research location was conducted in three locations determined by purposive sampling, namely Station 1 located in Ujung Pancu, Station 2 and 3 located in Lam Ujong and Brandeh villages. Moment pearson correlation was applied for analyzing the relationship between density of Uca sp. with mangrove abundance. The results showed that nine species of Uca sp. indentified in Aceh Besar, there were Uca perplexa, Uca tetragonon, Uca cryptica, Uca coartata, Uca dussumieri, Uca rosea, Uca bellator, Uca vocans and Uca vomeris. The mangrove ecosystem in Aceh Besar was in the moderate category indicated by the moderate value of diversity, high evenness index, and low dominance index. There was no correlation between mangrove and abundance of Uca sp. in Aceh Besar, where Psig > 0.05. |
