ORESTE approach for sustainable supplier selection problem with probabilistic dual hesitant fuzzy information

Uncertainty because of randomness or fuzziness has a pivotal role in our livelihood. These uncertainties can be stochastic or non-stochastic. To deal with stochastic uncertainties or uncertainties due to randomness, this paper aims to develop an ORESTE approach that deals with the information in the form of probabilistic dual hesitant fuzzy elements (PDHFEs). This paper also introduced a series of new distances for PDHFEs with equal and unequal lengths. To show the developed method’s efficacy, a sustainable supplier selection (SSS) problem has also been taken as an example. The suggested approach also enables decision-makers to take the degree of agreement and disagreement into account, which makes it superior to previously developed methods.
