Cardiopulmonary resuscitation utilised cardioversion to achieve return of spontaneous circulation within 16 minutes. After return of spontaneous circulation, serum potassium levels only decreased and remained below 7 mmol/L after repeat abdominocentesis, alongside continued medical therapy. Unfortunately, despite successful recovery from general anaesthesia, the patient later developed surgical wound dehiscence and was euthanased as a result. |
