description | The act of farming and gardening is no doubt a very important factor to the continued survival of the human race, and this has been the case throughout all of human history. And throughout that long history, we humans have strived to have as much a measure of control as we possibly can, even under the most trying of circumstances, specifically in the act of watering gardens and plants. Because of this, a lot of progress has been made in this endeavor, from water hoses greatly reducing the need for watering cans, to water sprinklers likewise taking away the need to use said water hoses. But despite all of this, the process of watering plants has remained, for the most part, a manual process in the increasingly automated world that we live in. That is what we aim to tackle in undertaking this project. We aim to take away the need for manual labor in one of the many processes of farming by completely automating the process of watering plants and gardens. On conclusion, we successfully fabricated a smart gardening system that can accurately that can accurately read the moisture level of any soil content for a plant, and whenever necessary, can accordingly water the plant too, using a different type of sensor than what has commonly been used across similar projects, which successfully avoids the problem of corrosion that similar projects have run into. |
