Zusammenfassung: | PISA measures reading, mathematical, and scientific literacy achievement. The questions raised by PISA are categorized as HOTs questions. This study describes students’ mathematical literacy in solving HOTs questions. This research uses the qualitative method. The subjects of this study were two students of class VII F at SMP Negeri 1 Malang who were selected by purposive sampling technique. The research instrument is in the form of HOTs questions and interview guidelines. The data analysis of this research uses the Miles & Huberman model. According to the results of this study, there are two groups based on strategies who use problem solving method. In formulating, subjects in the first group showed that the subject grouped information in known forms and determined mathematical models. When employed, it shows that the subject uses the concept of ratio as a strategy in solving HOTs questions. In interpreting, show that the subject provides examples of the application of the solution and determine the reasons found to be reasonable. In formulating, topics in the second group indicated that the subject wrote the information in a known form, determining the mathematical model. When employed, it shows that the subject uses the distance, time, and speed formulas as a strategy in solving HOTs questions and drawing conclusions. When interpreting, demonstrate that giving an example of the application of the solution and specifying the rationale obtained makes sense. |
