Zusammenfassung:The Langer Mindfulness Scale (LMS-14; Pirson et al., 2018) is the main measure of mindfulness in Langer’s (1989) socio-cognitive perspective. This article presents the development and psychometric properties of a French-language version of the LMS-14. Data from more than 200 bilingual participants indicated that the results produced by the original and the translated versions are practically identical. Cronbach’s coefficient alpha for the total scale score was adequate (between 0.78 and 0.87) and the correlation between the two versions’ total scores was 0.83. As was the case with the original LMS-14, the hypothesized three-factor model was not supported by the French-language version data. Convergent validity data, also not supporting the three-factor model, replicated results obtained with the original scale: absence of sex differences, absence of age differences, and moderate correlation with measures of conscientiousness (Achievement Striving and Self-Discipline facets of the NEO-PI-R).
