description | Successfully leading large, high-demand outpatient behavioral health clinics is a complex and demanding undertaking. Inadequate resources, infinite reservoirs of empirical material, and conflicting ethical obligations strain even the most dedicated teams' abilities. Nevertheless, the onus on the field to drive toward higher levels of excellence, equity, and access remains ever-present. This article presents a clinical model and leadership mindset intended to assist leaders and staff endeavoring toward these goals. The Indiana model, an episodes-of-care psychotherapy model, and the People First and Growth mindset are paired to create a sustainable service delivery environment. This article intends to serve as a resource for clinical leaders, to invite broader discussions of effectively embodying high-quality, evidence-based practice with limited resources, and to invite empirical investigation of the tenets proposed. |
