description Warts are benign epidermal tumours caused by human papillomaviruses (HPVs). Significant physical and emotional discomfort was linked with them. Keratinocytes are infected by HPV, which causes hyperplasia and hyperkeratosis. This accelerated growth develops into a wart. Both vaginal and skin warts are brought on by HPV. Warts on the skin can appear as plantar warts, plane warts, or common warts.Salicylic acid, a keratolytic substance, eradicates the virus-infected epidermis. It can be found in a variety of vehicles with concentrations ranging from 10% to 30%. After receiving topical salicylic acid treatment for 3 to 6 months, almost two-thirds of all warts disappear.Every two to three weeks, the wart is frozen with liquid nitrogen during cryotherapy. According to the exact method of action, local irritation will trigger an immunological response. In a multicenter clinical research, there were no discernible differences in the effectiveness of liquid nitrogen cryotherapy and 50 percent salicylic acid for treating plantar warts. The surgical removal of warts entails the complete removal of lesions using curettage, electrosurgery, or traditional surgery. One benefit of surgery is that it offers a quick resolution, which makes it advantageous for stubborn or isolated warts. However, it is linked to high rates of bleeding, scarring, and bacterial infections; the likelihood of recurrence is believed to be around 20%.
