Zusammenfassung: | Papaya tree have been utilized by traditional healer since ancient time for the treatment of various ailments. Papaya contains a diversity of phytoconstituents, viz. flavonoids, alkaloids, glycosides, and polyphenols which possesses antioxidant, anticancer, and anti-inflammatory properties. Extracts and bioactive of Carica. Papaya have proven their therapeutic actions as shown in preclinical and clinical studies. However, there seems some gap in their clinical effectiveness as perceptible owing to lacking of exact delivery mechanism at desired sites of action. This issue has now become a challenge for global research activity and being addressed to explore novel drug delivery systems. A constant progress is observed in utilizing novel techniques of drug delivery with successful amalgamation of phytochemicals marked by scores of advantages. The purpose of this review is to gather evidence-based data on thetherapeutic potential, phytochemical profile, nano formulation, and patents of the Carica papaya plant.
