description | Oral formulations have been marked as a leading place among the different pharmaceutical forms evolving for human administration. The current technological advancements have risen to various novel pharmaceutical products, primarily the controlled drug delivery system which promotes effective plasma drug concentration for an extended interval of time. GRDDS stay in the stomach for a long time and improves gastric retention, enhance bioavailability and optimize the solubility of drugs at high pH environment. Herbal floating tablets containing amla, fenugreek and turmeric was formulated using (Ethyl cellulose acacia, HPMC) with various concentrations of Sodium Bicarbonate, Talc and Magnesium Stearate, Citric acid and Tartaric acid. It can be concluded that Isapgoal husk, HPMC k100M, Acacia, Ethyl cellulose and Sodium Bicarbonate can exceptionally be a favorable polymer for GRDDS. Floating tablets of amla can be used as a strategy to improve bioavailability and extend gastric residence time. The results demonstrated an upcoming potential and use of amla floating tablets as an alternative to conventional system. |
