The symptoms began 2 weeks before the patient sought care. This case aims to highlight the importance of obtaining a thorough history and physical examination and identifying key features that will inform the differential diagnosis. The case reviews the varying differentials that aid the clinician in recognizing rare dermatologic conditions to avoid long-term disability and unnecessary morbidity and mortality.
