Recurrent Glioblastoma Multiforme: a Case Report

[LANGUAGE= "English"] Glioblastoma multiforme is the most frequent primary malignant brain tumor in adults. Standardtherapy consists of surgical resection to the extent that is safely feasible, followed by radiotherapy.Major problem after therapy is local failure.In this case report, we present a patient with grade II astrocytoma that recurred as grade IVastrocytoma (Glioblastoma multiforme) 3 months after first resection. Postoperativechemoradiotherapy with temozolomide was administered to the patient. After progression ofdisease, temozolomide was given to the patient. Imaging studies for differantion of recurrenceand brain necrosis was discussed in this article.
