Performic acid—dichloromethane system as chemoselective reagent in the synthesis of 29-nor-20-O-formyl derivatives of betulin
A comparative study of the chemical behavior of performic acid in chloroform and methylene chloride revealed that the HCOOH—H 2 O 2 —CH 2 Cl 2 system ensured effective and chemoselective synthesis of 29- nor -20- O -formyl derivatives of betulin.
