Zusammenfassung:Only 3% from 97% of the world’s water is freshwater; out of which 2/3 are glaciers. As a result, 1.1 billion people worldwide do not have access to safe drinking water. A further 2.7 billion people face freshwater shortages a month. Now a days demand for fresh water increases, as well as technologies to produce freshwater also increasing simultaneously. One of the promising techniques used for fresh water production is known as desalination. Solar still is working with 100% renewable energy and it is eco-friendly for the environment. The drawback of solar still is lower productivity of fresh water. Many researches are working to improve the performance of the solar still. Evaporation rate is directly proportional to the productivity of the solar still. It has been proposed to use atomizer in the modified solar still. Compared to the conventional solar still the modified solar still with atomizer performed well and it produced higher yield.
