description | Small-scale educational institutions such as schools and tuition center continue to employ manual exam scheduling system because it can still satisfy their objectives daily. However, for higher level educational institutions it involves a very large range of students from different semesters with various types of programs and consisting multiple number of subjects in a single semester. Thus, manual exam scheduling needs to be automated to make the process of examination scheduling system much smoother and less time consuming. This paper presents an automated examination scheduling system using graph coloring algorithm to enhance the scheduling process in universities. The use of a graph coloring algorithm boosts the preparation of exam schedules and shortens the time spent to manually compute exam schedules. The graph coloring algorithm makes sure that no two vertices are colored using same color. Hence, all assigned exam slots becomes unique with no redundancies and it is time saving. |
