This study uses an explanatory research study method with a cross sectional approach. Meanwhile, data collection techniques were carried out by exploring journals and other information relevant to the study. The results showed that maternal care during the puerperium had not been fully realized because there was still a strong tradition or only believing in customs regarding maternal care during the puerperium.
