description | Damping is one of the strategies for allowing a building to move in elastic manner and disperse seismic energy that have been considered. Dampers are meant to activate before structural parts fail, allowing the structure to endure an earthquake with little damage. In present study G+15 story building with fluid viscous dampers and friction dampers are used to assess the response of multi-storied RC building. In the present study the software ETABS 2017 have been used. The dynamic response of structure is evaluated by using time-history and response-spectrum analysis. It is concluded that building with square column perform well as compared to rectangular column in terms of seismic response. Seismic behavior of building with fluid viscous damper is more significant than building with friction dampers. |
