Zusammenfassung:— We have studied the temperature dependence of the growth rate of nanowires (NWs). The experimental data obtained by us and a critical analysis of current views on the effect of temperature on NW growth kinetics suggest that temperature dependences of the NW growth rate can be predicted by thermodynamic means and that the rate-limiting step of the process is crystallization on the solid–liquid interface.
