Zusammenfassung:This article investigates the effect of SiCp particles reinforcement on machinability and forgeability of Al–Cu–SiCp metal matrix composite. The samples are prepared by ex situ stir-casting technique to keep it crack-free after solidification. Mechanical and microstructure properties of forged and as-cast specimens are determined. XRD is also executed to confirm the composite developed and to recognise the presence of the phases of it. Taguchi L9 orthogonal array is applied for designing the experimental run on Al–Cu–SiCp MMC by the Spark-EDM with Cu-electrode. This paper is beneficial to solve the problem of selecting suitable machining parameters using a modified-MCDM. The Standard deviation method is used in this work for calculating weightages of the attributes without giving any consideration to the opinion of a decision-maker. The RSM is employed for acquiring the mathematical model and for comparing the experimental data with the predicted data.
