Zusammenfassung:A new iron polyoxometalate complex, (Bu 4 N) 4.3 K 0.7 [PW 11 O 39 Fe III N 3 ]⋅2.5H 2 O ( 1 ), has been synthesized in 50% yield by the reaction of K 7 [PW 11 O 39 ]⋅14H 2 O, Fe(NO 3 ) 3 ⋅ 9H 2 O, and NaN 3 with subsequent addition of Bu 4 NBr. The compound has been characterized by elemental analysis, mass spectrometry, and vibrational spectroscopy. The unit cell parameters of 1 have been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction: cubic crystal system, space group I 3 m , a = 17.82(1) Å, which is typical of salts of Keggin anions with strongly disordered Bu 4 N + cations.
