description | Keywords: incipient dental caries, minimally invasive therapy, caries in iltration. 1.INTRODUCTION In ancient Greek, pro means "before" and phylax means "guard", namely prophylactic measures guard against disease by taking action ahead of time, to prevent or defend against the disease [1]. When the WSLs affect the vestibular dental surfaces, their management can be multiple: monitoring, topical fluoridation (in the dental office or at home, in custom trays), composite infiltration techniques (Icon, DMG), filling, direct veneering (with composite) or indirect veneering (from composite or ceramics). The questionnaires were sent to a random sample of dentists, which evaluated a broad spectrum of possible measures for incipient dental caries lesions. For what reasons did/ would you give up using noninvasive and minimally invasive treatments? o Needs rigorous periodical control o The outcome largely depends on patient's compliance o High cost of materials o Patients are not informed and do not agree with this approach. 3.RESULTS In 2016, the majority of responses (71%) were gathered from dentists belonging to the age group of 25-30 years; 17% were between 31 and 40 years; 8% between 41 and 50 years. |
